Leaders don’t make followers

If you want to be a leader- in any field in your life- don’t make followers. Create leaders! Reason #1 You will learn so much more in sharing your craft/skills than you will in hiding them in the fear that no one can else should be better than you. If your skills benefit no one other than you, they will reduce over time. While if they help even one person who is not you, they begin to multiply manifold. Try it out for yourself.

This is the state of mind (read: being) that I function my best in: Open to everything; tied by nothing. When I find myself in this state or more accurately put when I go through life in this state and later reflect on it; I realize that the joy of being alive lies deeply rooted in the art of allowing yourself to flow. I can imagine this must sound counterintuitive to most of you. I can relate to that feeling as I did spend years of my life trying to become the best version of myself using productivity as the measuring unit. All the while not realizing that the best version of me lies in the space beyond effort.

Two kinds of prescriptions

There’s the kind of prescriptions that work and the kind that don’t work. By prescriptions, I refer to a recommendation or a note that a person in authority puts forward. When you go to a doctor for a viral fever that is bugging you and you get handed a prescription…

A kind experiment

Let’s do a quick exercise before I share the experiment with you. Close your eyes and assess how you feel right now- at this exact moment. Try to be objective about it- don’t be self-critical for feeling whatever it is that you find yourself feeling. …

In-flight announcements

Most of us would have taken a commercial flight at least a few times and heard their in-flight safety announcements (or heard other similar announcements in life- at a traffic signal, railway station, etc) Now if you remember your first few times taking a flight, you were very attentive to…

In my continuing research on how I could live a more authentic life, I came across the concept of ‘Wounds of Owing’- it resonated with me and I believe most of you will be able to come up with examples of having experienced this in your life. Wounds of Owning…

The bottle green sweater vest

I have a very distinct memory from childhood that I haven’t shared with anyone before. I am unclear exactly how old I was when this incident occurred but I couldn’t be more than 5 years of age. The whole family was out for a movie. It was a night show…
